AVI KWA AME NATIONAL MONUMENT: Appreciation and Public Action
Kim Garrison Means will share an overview of Nevada's 4th national monument, with over 500,000 acres of ecological, historical and cultural treasures south of Las Vegas. Explore what there is to see and do in Avi Kwa Ame, learn about the interconnectedness of its plants, animals and ecosystems, and hear how multiple communities worked together to achieve national monument protection. National parks, monuments and other protected public lands are now being threatened across the country. We'll discuss the current situation, and at the end of the presentation, you'll have the opportunity to share your thoughts with representatives through our postcard campaign, and receive additional resources on how you can advocate for and help protect public lands.
Come support Avi Kwa Ame National Monument, and this vibrant local business—a desert nursery and garden lifestyle boutique that is a resource and gathering place for Southern Nevada’s gardening community.
10% of all sales on the day of the class will be donated to Friends of Avi Kwa Ame.
