Interpretive Signage
We’re getting started on a project to design, fabricate, and install a cohesive network of interpretive, educational, and directional wayfinding signage throughout the monument. The right signage can illuminate, educate, provide context and encourage safety and respect for all visitors to Avi Kwa Ame National Monument.
Signage will include relevant information that helps each place tell its story, from highlighting the importance of water in the desert and sharing information about plants, animals and geology, to discussing cultural and historical connections and the area’s need for continued protection. We’ll be working closely with the monument’s stewards including tribal partners and government agencies, and working with volunteers to help with installation and maintenance.
