STAND FOR PUBLIC LANDS
Our National Parks, Monuments, Forests, Seashores, Recreation Areas and other federally protected public lands are some of America’s greatest treasures. If you have felt the power of nature to heal, energize, and inspire, and you’d like these spaces to be preserved for the future, you can use your creativity to get outside and #standforpubliclands.
GET OUTSIDE AND STAND FOR PUBLIC LANDS
Take a picture of yourself enjoying America’s public lands and post it with a message of support. You can also write your message on a sign and hold it up in the photo—feel free to get creative! Include the hashtags #monumentsforall #standforpubliclands and #avikwaame.
Share on social media and tag your representatives! Nevada representatives’ social media handles are below, but tag whoever your representatives are.
Support Friends of Avi Kwa Ame and other public lands non-profit organizations with your time, skills or financial resources.
Encourage your family and friends to do the same!
Can’t get outside? Send a creative postcard to your representatives—bonus points if your postcard shows off a public landscape you love.
TIPS FOR COMMUNICATING WITH REPRESENTATIVES
Keep it short, positive and professional. State what you love about one or all of our public lands and why you think they should continue to be protected. Thank representatives that have stood up to protect our landscapes!
