GUIDED HIKE: Wildflower Hike on the New Era Mines Trail

Join us for a guided wildflower hike on the
NEW ERA MINES TRAIL

Join us on Thursday, March 19th for a wildflower hike along the New Era Mines Trail. You’ll get a lovely view of Avi Kwa Ame (Spirit Mountain), as well as evidence of mining and lots of beautiful wildflowers, thanks to all of our recent rain. The hike is about 2 miles long, moderate in difficulty, and the road is steep and rocky, so bring your walking stick.

  • At 8:30am, we will meet at the Denny's parking lot (at 100 US Hwy 95). There are no restrooms at the trailhead, so make sure to use the facilities at Denny's. We will leave promptly at 9:00am. Make sure to use the facilities at Denny's, as there are no restrooms where we are going.

  • We will carpool 4 1/2 miles east down Cottonwood Cove Road, park, and walk from  there.

  • Wear comfortable shoes, and dress appropriately for March weather (layers are always very helpful in the desert). Walking stick suggested for this hike.

  • Dogs are welcome on leash.

This event is free, but donations are appreciated and help support our work in Avi Kwa Ame National Monument. Please RSVP so we know how many people to expect.
