Knob Hill Hike

Knob Hill-Drive and Hike

On October 21st, meet at Denny's at 9:30, leave at 10:00. Or, meet at junction of Hwy 95 and Nelson Cutoff Road  at 10:15.

This drive requires a high clearance vehicle,  able to go up a steep, rocky road.

From Denny's we will drive north on Hwy 95 for 10 miles, till Nelson Cutoff Road. Go east on Nelson Cutoff Road for 3.7 miles. Turn right on Combination Mine Road,  go 1 mile, till you get to the Power Line Road. (GPS does not give it a label, but the big towers are very obvious.) Another 1 mile to where we will park and start the hike.  We will do a loop of about 1.8 miles. Spectacular rock formations and evidence of this being a very special place since ancient times.

Dogs are welcome on leash. Dress for whatever we get that day.
