Castle Peaks Trail - Part 2

Meet us at 9:30 a.m. in the Denny’s parking lot at 100 U.S. Highway 95. There are no restrooms at the hike location, so please use the facilities at Denny’s before we depart.

At 10:00 a.m., we will caravan to the trailhead. From Denny’s, head west on Highway 164/Nipton Road for approximately 7 miles to Walking Box Road. Turn left onto Walking Box Road and continue for about 7 miles until you reach the corrals on the right. From there, we’ll travel south approximately 1½ miles along Castle Peaks Trail to the next set of corrals, where we will park and begin our hike.

We’ll hike approximately 1½ miles to the historic windmill and back. The trail is easy, with very little elevation change, but the terrain is rocky, so sturdy shoes are recommended. Dogs are welcome but must remain on a leash. Bring plenty of water, snacks, and a walking stick if you use one. We look forward to exploring this historic landscape with you!
