Join us for a tour of the historic Walking Box Ranch, the former Nevada home of silent-film stars Clara Bow and Rex Bell. Located near Searchlight, Nevada, the ranch was purchased by Rex Bell in 1931 and became both a working cattle ranch and a retreat for the famous couple. Together, they built the ranch’s distinctive 5,000-square-foot Spanish Revival home, where they raised their two sons, Rex Jr. and George.

The Bell family’s story is just one chapter in the rich history of Walking Box Ranch. After Bell sold the property in 1951, it continued to operate as a cattle ranch before later becoming an executive retreat. The Bureau of Land Management purchased the ranch in 2005, and in 2009 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places for its significance in cattle ranching and architecture. Today, visitors can step inside this remarkable piece of Nevada history and discover the stories of the people, Hollywood legends, and ranching heritage that shaped Walking Box Ranch.
